Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Exam – UPSEE

The Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE) was a state-level entrance examination conducted by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), formerly known as Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), for admission into various undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered by colleges and universities in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. However, please note that my knowledge is based on information available up to September 2021, and there may have been changes or developments since then.

Here are some key points about UPSEE:

Courses Covered

UPSEE was conducted for admission to a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including B.Tech, B.Pharma, MBA, MCA, B.Arch, BHMCT, BFAD, and various other courses in engineering, management, pharmacy, architecture, and other fields.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for UPSEE varied depending on the course. Generally, candidates were required to have passed the relevant qualifying examination with a certain percentage of marks.

Exam Pattern

UPSEE had different question paper patterns for different courses. For engineering programs, it typically consisted of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. For MBA and MCA programs, it included sections on English, General Awareness, and Aptitude.

Application Process

Interested candidates had to apply online through the official UPSEE website. They needed to fill out the application form, pay the application fee, and upload the required documents.

Admit Card

After successfully submitting the application, candidates received their admit cards, which contained details about the exam date, time, and examination center.

Examination Centers

UPSEE was conducted at various examination centers across Uttar Pradesh.

Result and Counseling

After the exam, results were declared, and qualified candidates were called for counseling based on their ranks. During counseling, candidates could choose their preferred courses and colleges based on their ranks and the availability of seats.

Reservation

UPSEE followed the reservation policy of the Uttar Pradesh government, which included reservations for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), and other categories.

Merit List

A merit list was prepared based on the UPSEE scores, and candidates were allocated seats in colleges and universities according to their ranks.

It’s important to note that in 2020, the Government of Uttar Pradesh announced that admissions to engineering courses in the state’s technical colleges would be made through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). This change may have affected the conduct of UPSEE for engineering admissions, but the exam might still have been conducted for other courses.

For the most up-to-date information on UPSEE, including any changes in its status or procedures beyond my knowledge cutoff date in September 2021, I recommend visiting the official website of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) or checking with the relevant authorities in Uttar Pradesh.
